Getting ready for Iceland

We drove to Stokksnes Point on the morning of Day 13, under dramatic skies as the clouds revealed the mountains (Stop A). At the point (Stop B), we saw the peaks in the clouds from a black sand beach, and visited a “Viking Village” that was a movies set created for the TV show The Witcher. From there we drove to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon (Stop C) with its Ice Diamond Beach, and got there just in time for a break in the rain and some sun on the ice. The color of the icebergs was truly incredible and unbelievable. The size of the glaciers here is also out of scale. The small glaciers dropping off the large glacier at the top of the mountain are larger than any I have been close to before (Stop D). After our stop there, the weather closed in and we headed to our accommodations.
