On the way to Oregon for Thanksgiving, we stopped by Castle Crags for a hike. The Crags are an erosive remnant of a 170 million year old granitic pluton. Mount Shasta is a nearby Cascade volcano that is prominently seen from the Crags, but the bonus shot below was taken from the I-5 rest area at the Weed Airport on the return home.
